Eye Disorders

In addition to offering comprehensive services to meet your glasses and contact lens needs, Longview Eye Associates strives to provide the highest level of medical eye care.  There are many conditions and disorders that can have a dramatic affect on your functional vision, and the doctors of Longview Eye Associates are committed to doing everything within their power to provide early detection and treatment of eye disorders.

In order to meet this goal, Longview Eye Associates is equipped with the latest in ocular diagnostic equipment.  These instruments provide the doctors with a greater level of diagnostic information, and allow the doctor and patient to have a greater understanding of many ocular conditions.

We are proud to offer the optomap® Retinal Exam.  This retinal examination provides a wide-angle view of the retinal tissue without the use of dilation drops.  These images become part of your electronic medical record and allow the doctors of Longview Eye Associates to monitor subtle changes to the retinal tissue over time.

For more information, feel free to watch this short informational video on the optomap® Retinal Exam.

As part of your comprehensive ocular health evaluation, the doctors of Longview Eye Associates perform an assessment of the ocular health to determine if there is any sign of eye disorders such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.

Longview Eye Associates offers multiple diagnostics tests such as automated visual field testing and the GDx Nerve Fiber Analyzer to provide a comprehensive picture of the health of the optic nerve.  Your doctor more order this test if more information is warranted to determine if you are a suspect of glaucoma and/or other ocular conditions affecting the optic nerve.

The doctors of Longview Eye Associates also provide a comprehensive evaluation of the anterior segment of the eye, specifically the cornea.  One diagnostic tool that is available at Longview Eye Associates is the Konan Specular Microscope.  This instrument provides a great deal of useful information when evaluating the health of the cornea.  Please mention to your doctor if you are experiencing any ocular irritation/dryness or any fluctuating vision, as this may be a symptom of an underlying condition affecting the corneal tissue.

Thank you for trusting us with the health of your eyes!
